The Team
Three directors building Parallel — exploring, creating, and investing at the edge of AI and technology.

Jym Brown
Director
Jym is an author, TEDx speaker, and PhD researcher in epistemological philosophy. He spent years as a lecturer and performance consultant, working with sports teams, business leaders, and hundreds of students on leadership development.
At Parallel, Jym leads on operations, sales, and strategy. He brings a unique perspective that blends psychology, philosophy, and practical business sense — helping the team think clearly about hard problems.
Pete and Jym met through a mutual friend, chatting business at BBQs and parties before eventually working together. Their conversation on disruption theory is one of the most popular episodes of the Advice Amplified podcast.

Alex
Director
Alex is a deep technical expert with a background in building complex, mission-critical systems. He architects platforms that power AI-driven tools for regulated industries.
Pete and Alex first worked together at Wealth Wizards in 2017, where they tackled some of the hardest problems in automated financial advice — building systems that could reason about pensions, tax, and regulatory requirements.
At Parallel, Alex brings the technical depth to turn ambitious ideas into production-ready products. He's the one who figures out how to make the impossible possible.

Pete Ridlington
Director
Pete is a Chartered Financial Planner turned fintech founder with nearly 15 years in financial services. He started at Mattioli Woods, moved through compliance and advice policy roles at Wesleyan, and eventually led innovation projects that shaped his product-first approach to technology.
At Wealth Wizards (2017-2020), Pete worked alongside Alex at the frontier of robo-advice and AI, leading the creation of an automated advice algorithm for defined benefit pension transfers — a project many said was impossible.
Pete brings the product and commercial lens to Parallel — bridging the gap between what technology can do and what people actually need.
